How - To learn more about Cowboy Action Shooting

Cowboy Action Shooting, like any other sport, requires particular equipment and has rules to follow. The Texas Peacemakers are a Single Action Shooting Society affiliated club. Our matches are conducted in accordance with the S.A.S.S. SHOOTERS HANDBOOK, the latest edition is free to download at the S.A.S.S. website:    http://www.sassnet.com/

This Handbook describes each shooting category and it's specific requirements for weapons, ammunition, shooting style, clothing, holsters, and cartridge belts / pouches / bandoleers. It also describes safety procedures, range operations, and prohibited equipment and firearm modifications. Other S.A.S.S. rules and the Range Safety Officers instructions also apply.

The S.A.S.S. SHOOTERS HANDBOOK is the place start, however there are countless other sources of information available on this popular sport, including web pages, magazine articles, television presentations, books, videos, conventions, and training schools. There is no substitute for seeing things for yourself, please come visit a match, ask questions, look at the gear, and see what you think.
